Janiece Johnson Wilson
Nationally Certified Monte Foreman Instructor… one of very few accredited by Monte Foreman himself, who is still teaching today.
Janiece is a lifelong resident of Arizona and graduated Mesa High School in 1961. Graduated in 1966 from Arizona State University, where she was ASU Rodeo Queen in 1965 as was Miss Rodeo Arizona in 1965. And she was National Team Champion for ASU in 1966. She was also on the ASU Swimming Team and she graduated with a major in Physical Education. And completed a year and a half of ASU Nursing School before changing majors. And Janiece also has a secondary degree in Biological Sciences. And she was on the ASU Rodeo Team for three years and a member of the ASU Rodeo Club for five years.
She had the privilege of meeting Monte Foreman in 1963 at the age of 19. When she was 21, he tapped her on her shoulder asking her to go ride with him to demonstrate “horse handling science” on the national level. There she learned the knowledge that she teaches to this day to honor Monte Foreman’s legacy as the “Father of Modern day Horsemanship”.
Her daughters Wylene Wilson, Wenda Wilson-Johnson are both very looked up to and successful in the horse world. And Wanette Wilson is a former High School Rodeo Queen and National Anthem Singer, and an excellent teacher of the Foreman Method.
Wylene is known as Extreme Wylene and a clinician for confidence and horse handling skills on the national level. She is also in the movie, “Wild Horse, Wild Ride.” And she is a national judge and colt starter. Her clinics are fun and very informative, and her students love her!
Wenda Wilson-Johnson has been to the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) four times (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) and is currently sitting at number one in the world for professional barrel racing (WPRA) for the fifth time. She demonstrates what she has learned from Monte Foreman through numerous state championships in gymkhana, high school rodeo and AQHA World Competitions, being AQHA World Pole Bending Champion in 2002.
Currently at the age of 80 years old, she is in retirement in Baker City, OR to be near her son Jay Eric Wilson and his family and her grand children.
Her great memories and experiences have been very helpful in writing the book. She considers it a heavenly calling to save more horses with horse sense and common sense and help thousands of horses and young horseman in the future about the truth and how to find it. We can all thank Monte Foreman for changing our lives and helping us be successful with numerous horses.
